This last week was an odd one. With the 4th of July falling on a Wednesday both David and I had some days off work. David worked Monday and Friday and I worked Monday and Tuesday. The weather on Tues-Thurs was pretty crappy. It was cloudy and a little cold considering the rest of the US was at 100 degrees. On the 4th we were outside at 5pm and in sweatshirts and jeans. It was pretty funny.
It did clear up by Friday though and get back to the beautiful CA weather we know. Saturday, David and I hosted a '4th of July' party with our friends and neighbors. I cleaned all day Friday and made the ice cream while David worked. Saturday we both did our parts to prep for the party. David smoked and grilled a ton of meat! Actually too much in the end, but leftovers are good too. We had quite a few people come over and the weather cooperated too! By the time we had everyone in our backyard I wished it was a little bit bigger! ha. But it was so much fun to introduce new neighbors and spent time with everyone! David and I love to host and will be doing it again soon I am sure! Maybe next time not cooking so much ;) !
This time next week I will be back in KS. Only for a long weekend, but I am excited to see my family!
And on a happy note, HAPPY 1ST ANNIVERSARY TO DAVID AND I! <3
